My First Blog

Here it is. I have talked about it, thought about it, and here I am- finally blogging. I'm late in the world of blogging, or anything in the computer world for that matter. Hopefully I'll have something interesting to say. I don't know how this is going to play out, but as in everything else I do, I find my way eventually.

Today, I am in the midst of trying to redo my family room without spending any money. I'm trying to use what I have to make this place a relaxing room to hang out in. It's tough, it's a long narrow room, with a wood bead board ceiling, and bamboo shades( this is how the room came ). We do everything in here, so it can get overwhelmed with stuff- TV, record player, computer, CD player, Ipod docking station, large sectional couch, baby swing, cradle, dog crate, coffee table.... yikes!!! So, my task for the day was to remove the curtains because I thought they "weighed down" the room. I was looking through my House Beautiful magazine, and saw a room similar to ours, without curtains, so I decided to remove them... It already feels better in here. Next, is painting. I am going to paint the room a light silvery blue. I bought 5 gallons of this paint last year for another part of the house, but then changed my mind. This morning I tested the paint in here, and it works perfectly. I'll keep you guys updated... whoever " you guys" are that read this. This is our first home, and I never realized how much goes into making a house a home. I want this place to feel like a big hug, that you can go limp in.

  2. Hi Jeni. I think it is great you are doing this! The blue paint sounds perfect for that room. Redecorating is fun! I am on a "tear" to get our home decluttered and puppy proofed before we bring our little guy home in 3 or 4 weeks. So I feel the deadline looming to be finished by the end of June. Also because I'd be very embarrassed if anyone dropped in right now. With other things in life taking priorit, the clutter has snowballed! But, it not like those places on "Clean House" LOL

I'm looking forward to reading your blog and coming in person to meet adorable Henry, have Coach meet his cousin, and check out your progress!

    Love you!!!
